§ 42-7. Charges.

  • (a)

    There shall be charged, assessed, and collected each month for each residential unit and for each business establishment the amount set out in the following schedule for each class of service, subject to the following being revised from time to time by ordinance:

    (1)

    For service A residential class, zone pickup, twice weekly, for each residential unit, the service charge is $6.35.

    (2)

    For service B commercial class, no service, the fee for use of the landfill site is $11.00.

    a.

    The fee for service for two days a week is $21.00.

    b.

    The rate for service for more than two days a week or for large volume customers, shall be set by city manager.

    (b)

    The city will make a special collection of tree trimmings and leaves twice a year at no charge, usually during the months of May and November. The guidelines for placing trimmings and leaves are:

    (1)

    Items shall be placed at the property line curb, preferably where household garbage is collected;

    (2)

    Leaves, grass cuttings and other smaller items must be in disposable containers such as bags, boxes or cartons not exceeding 35 pounds;

    (3)

    Limbs and branches must be cut into lengths and tied into bundles not larger than 2½ feet in height, 2½ feet in width and four feet in length; and

    (4)

    Stone, broken concrete and debris from construction demolition or lot clearing will not be picked up.

    (c)

    Other special collections requested by residents will be charged the following rates, which are subject to being revised from time to time by ordinance:

    (1)

    One truck load is $20.00;

    (2)

    Each load after the first is $15.00; and

    (3)

    The minimum load charge is $20.00.

    (d)

    The following charges, which are subject to being revised from time to time by ordinance, shall apply to all nonresidents of the city desiring to dispose of any and all refuse at the city's landfill site:

    (1)

    For a car, pickup, or one-axle trailer, the fee is $5.00;

    (2)

    For a two-axle and up trailer, the fee is $8.00; and

    (3)

    For a tandem truck, the fee is $20.00.
